Pig Hunters and Cherry Pie

I'm not sure, but I think you can only see this in Hawaii. We were behind this on our way in to school one morning. I don't know how well you can see this, but they had a pig on each side and the dogs were in the middle. Can you tell we live in the country? lol.

The next two pictures are from Bernina Club. The teacher did a demo on how to make this pot holder. The pictures are of the front and back of the pot holder. The back looks like a pie plate. Isn't it cute? I think I need to buy more fabric with food on it. ;)

Cindy Walter

I know this is a really blurry picture, but this is Cindy Walter, a quilter who painted her fabric she used to make the quilt she is holding up. She came to speak at our Bernina Club meeting last year. She wrote a book called Fabric Painting. After she came to our meeting she was on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Timms.

For those of you who are not familiar with The Quilt Show, it is an online Quilting video show, like a tv series, except that they feature quilters and their techniques. I used to subscribe to it, but I don't have enough time to watch all the shows. Maybe I'll purchase the shows later on DVD, but I still don't know if I'll have the time to watch them. sigh.

The next photo is of more fruits at the farmer's market. It is Sour Sop and they were huge! I saw an even bigger one the next week. You can kind of see how big is is in comparison to the person's watch and arm. I don't know how many pounds it weighed, but it was pretty big.

The next picture is of some bamboo shoots.
They were pretty big too. I hope they were tender. I know the smaller ones are very tender.

Owl Quilt

This card was so cute I had to photograph it. It reminds me that God is in control.

The next picture is of a quilt I made for my nephew Oliver. The backing is minkee and it has owls on it. I found the owl pattern in a magazine for a plushie and used it as an applique pattern.

I don't know if I did this correctly, but I think I used too much steam-a-seam because it was pretty stiff. Then when I sewed it on to the quilt top, my needle was getting sticky. yikes! Well, I ended up giving this to Oliver for Christmas. I hope he likes it. Minkee is so soft!

I was trying to load more pictures, but blogger was putting them in upside-down. I'll try again later.
